Cast Edge Dining Table no. 2

The Cast Edge Dining Table no. 2 features a new base design that integrates blackened steel and Claro Walnut in a mixed material bridal joint.

A lost wax cast bronze edge is seamlessly integrated into the tabletop, forming a continuous transition from the original wood live edge to a bronze edge.  The raised texture of the wood grain in the cast bronze edge provides a contrast to the velvety smooth, subtle texture of the Claro walnut Slab.

The bronze edge complements the colors of the sapwood in the live edge slab, while the Rosewood butterfly joints complement the heart wood.

As time goes on, the bronze edge will patina alongside the wood slab and the two materials will appear more and more alike.  Only the hardened, metallic surface of the cast bronze and the temperature difference between the two materials will reveal the difference.  Each piece is handmade in Los Angeles, California.
